Dr Shikta Dey (BMed, MD, FRACP) is a Consultant Rheumatologist providing personalised, evidence-based care for people living with autoimmune and rheumatic conditions. She takes a thoughtful and collaborative approach, working closely with patients to support long-term health, comfort, and quality of life.
Dr Dey has particular experience in the care of people with osteoporosis, those planning or considering pregnancy, and individuals living with persistent or complex pain. She has undertaken additional focused training in chronic pain management and in the care of medical conditions during pregnancy, allowing her to support patients through some of the more complex stages of life with confidence and sensitivity.
Dr Dey consults privately in Five Dock and also practises at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
Dr Dey completed her medical degree at the University of New South Wales, graduating with distinction. She undertook her physician and rheumatology training at Royal North Shore Hospital and Liverpool Hospital. She subsequently completed one year of advanced training in pain management at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, and one year of focused training in the management of medical conditions in pregnancy at Campbelltown Hospital.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr Dey is actively involved in teaching at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and the University of Sydney. She is currently undertaking a PhD, with research focused on improving care and outcomes for people of reproductive age living with rheumatic conditions, including pregnancy outcomes. Dr Dey is also co-chair of the Reproductive Health Special Interest Group for the Australian Rheumatology Association.
